MOHLAVYR; real name: Ulrika Mohlin
Born 1987 in Nässjö, Sweden
Was a figureskater. Now a songwriter, musician and artist.



Released her first 2-track single "Art is music, music is art" 2007 while she studied songwriting at Bollnäs Folkhögskola.
The following 4-track EP "Can or can't" including one music video "Running Out" was released in May 09.
During her studies of free art at "Örebro Konstskola" 2007-09 she met Erik Friberg (the director of the music videos) and the members of her band.
This was also the time where she became a member of The Magnificent Seven where she plays the accordion, saw, percussion and provides additional vocals.
Currently she study music production at the university and has recently finished her first full length album "Fish in Trees" which was released 21th of January 2012.

As you might have figured Mohlavyr's ambition is to combine art with music to give a broader experience. What the art lacks, the music makes complete!

"Ulrika Mohlin, mer känd som Mohlavyr är både en begåvad musiker och en begåvad konstnär. Solo såväl som med band så bjuds det på unika performances, ibland ackomanjerat av träningscyklar och saxar och ibland illustrerat med välgjorda videoproduktioner. Den 21 januari 2012 släppte Mohlavyr debutalbumet Fish in Trees... men detta musikaliska projekt är allt annat än orutinerat. 2011 var Mohlavyr på tysklandsturné och hon har delat scén med bland andra Elin Ruth Sigvardsson, Forence Valentin, Kajsa Grytt, Mikael Wiehe och Lars Demian.

Den slipade kombinationen av musikens allvarsamhet och lekfullhet har gjort att Mohlavyr blivit mycket uppmärksammad i lokal media och fått epitetet "quirky". Musiken liknas bäst vid akustisk alternativ pop, närmaste liknelserna går till Wendy McNeill, Regina Spektor och Cat Power."
